Journalism and Mass Media

The Faculty of Journalism & Mass Media at Transafric College trains students for careers in radio, TV, print, and digital media. Programmes such as Certificate in Journalism and Mass Communication and Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication equip learners with practical skills in news writing, interviewing, reporting, editing, and basic media production. Students learn how to gather information ethically, write clear and engaging stories, and adapt content for different platforms including online, broadcast, and social media.

The curriculum emphasises hands‑on practice through simulated newsrooms, writing assignments, and media projects that mirror real‑world workflows. Learners also develop skills in media law, communication ethics, and audience analysis, ensuring they understand their role in a responsible and professional media environment.

Graduates are prepared to work as reporters, news writers, sub‑editors, radio or TV assistants, content creators, and communications officers in media houses, NGOs, corporate communications departments, and digital‑content agencies. The faculty nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and strong communication skills, positioning students for success in the fast‑changing world of mass media.
